Alan loves Golf. He watches every golf game on TV whenever there is one. In 2016 there was a Senior PGA (Professional Golf Association) tournament held at Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course in August, and Alan took Korinne and me, respectively, to the golf course to watch it in person since it was only 30 minutes driving distance from our house. I did not have any knowledge about Golf at all before that, so I wondered why he was so eager and excited to take us there to watch it. Despite the reluctance, I went with him because I knew that the environment of the golf course is always beautiful and the energy around it is absolutely wonderful. Even though I wasn’t sure I would like the golf, I felt I could enjoy nature’s beauty as we walked the golf course. Alan was patiently explaining to me the rules of golf and how to watch it as we followed the featured players during their play. It was indeed a fresh and incredible experience. At the end, I was so glad that I went. Since then I have become more and more interested in golf, even to a degree nowadays that I have become somewhat addicted and look forward to watching it on TV each week.

Two weekends ago, there was a big event in the golf world. It was big because it was the Masters tournament in Augusta Georgia. There are four major tournaments on PGA tour, the Masters tournament is one of the most important and prestigious one among them as all the top professional golf players were there, all playing with the hopes of winning the title. What made it more intriguing for me was that the famous Tiger Woods was playing too after a three-year absence.

If you don’t know who Tiger Woods is. Here is a brief description about him: Tiger Woods is among the most successful golfers of all time. He has won 79 tournaments and 14 major tournaments since the age of 20 and has broken numerous golf records. He was ranked as the world’s number one golfer for the most consecutive weeks and for the greatest total number of weeks of any golfer. He has been awarded PGA player of the year a record eleven times. He is only the second golfer to have achieved a career Grand Slam three times (winning all the majors), and he has inspired so many young people from different races and cultural backgrounds to pursue success in the professional golf world. What makes Tiger Woods more unique and intriguing is the turmoil and drastic change or downfall in his life when he was on the top of the world. After he achieved the number one golf ranking for a total of 683 weeks, more than any other player in history, his life started to fall apart. He not only went through a divorce due to difficult issues in his marriage, but also encountered many alleged extramarital indiscretions through many worldwide media sources. He went through rehab to deal with his sexual issues and his private life has been reported negatively in the news on a daily basis. I am sure that the public scandals have humiliated him and affected his self-confidence and his life severely. This not only resulted in his poor performance in his professional golf career, but also his health condition in general. He had back surgery in April 2014 and September 2015 and has struggled since to regain his dominant form. He dropped out of the world top 500 in golf ranking in May 2016. In July 2017, the official world golf ranking placed him at number 1,005, the worst of his career and the only time he has ever been out of the top 1,000.

As I put myself in his position and thought about walking in his shoes, I can truly feel the pain, the humiliation, the sense of failure and the struggle he has gone through in both his personal and professional life. It could not have been easy for him at all. In fact, it wouldn’t have been easy for anyone! However, he went through it and came out better and stronger. People have made comments about him that he seemed to have changed more positively. Now, after several years of hardship and struggle with his health and his life, he finally comes out to play again. It took courage for him to stand up and persevere through the ups and downs to get his life back both professionally and personally after he hit bottom. He says that he was taking it slowly, step by step. He is pleased and happy with the progress he has made as he mentioned in one of his public interviews he did six months ago. He could not think or imagine that it was possible to play golf again.

I was more intrigued after Alan explained to me about what Tiger Woods has endured in his life journey. Thus, ever since Alan told me that Tiger was going to play professional golf again early this year. I, with Alan, watched every tournament that he was playing in. The first match we watched him playing in was on February 22nd in the Honda Classic. It was not an easy play for him as he was adjusting and getting used to his back, which had twice under gone back-fusion surgery, but he made the cut and finished play. Since then, with each tournament he played, he has been getting better and better. His rank has climbed from number 1,005 to 103. And he eventually had the courage to play at the Masters tournament two weekends ago.

I had very high expectations on his play and I wanted him to win because I knew how important and meaningful it would be for the person who survived the hell of life and was trying to start anew. However, every hole he played was a test and trial for him. My emotion was fluctuating with each shot he made and every struggle he went through. I felt his emotion, his disappointment, but also his determination and perseverance. I wondered why he had to go through such a struggle as if there was an unseen force trying to teach him something and preventing him from winning. As I was questioning, something prompted me to look at his natal chart. I immediately did a Google search and found his natal chart online. Amazing what we can get from the internet through google?!

Reading his natal chart enabled me to understand his life lessons around what he has been going through. Tiger has Saturn in Leo in the house of hopes, wishes and dreams, indicating that his major lesson is to learn humility and to shine through the heart, not through the ego; His real success of soul growth will come through a series of testing and trials throughout his life journey once he has attained maturity; His Sun is in Capricorn, sitting in the house of foundation, indicating that he is here to build a solid foundation for his soul from the heart. Saturn in Leo and Sun in Capricorn is teaching him that his success is going to go through a reality check. His real success as a soul is through taking full responsibility for his actions, choices, and his life in general through hard work, discipline, determination, perseverance and patience. If not, what he has gained will be lost until he has truly learned and mastered his chosen major life lessons. Through this learning process, so much karma can be dealt with, so many past life issues and past life energy can be addressed, the deep wound can be healed, a radical transformation can take place and a great soul growth can be attained.

At the moment he was playing the Masters, the transit Mars, Saturn and Pluto were all in Capricorn and formed a conjunction to his natal Sun. This planetary configuration is pushing him to follow his heart felt passion to play on the world stage facing his fears and doubts, letting go of the past, and starting anew by truly believing in himself. It is also teaching him that his success this time around will not come as easily as it did before despite the fact that he was born with the incredible gift and talent of attaining great worldly success. Also, he will endure much testing and trials in his play as he experiences delay, restriction and limitation to build his true character and strength for his soul through his boundless determination, discipline, patience and perseverance. With Saturn, Pluto and Mars playing-out in one’s life, there is no luck, only hard work, discipline and patience; it can be frustrating and disappointing, but one cannot sit in the dark corner moaning and groaning with self-pity; instead, one must face it and act upon it. Any fear, doubt, insecurity or other ‘negative’ emotions will be checked and brought to manifestation. In Tiger’s situation, this is what exactly played out throughout this four-day Masters Tournament. Whenever he seemed to gain a score, he either could not put it into the hole, or he could not sustain it, the birdie he just gained was soon given way to a bogey on the next hole. The universe was definitely through these planetary movements and interactions to his natal Sun teaching him many valuable life lessons that he has chosen to learn from. There was not a lot of luck or easy play, but there was much frustration, hindrance and delay. I acutely sensed his frustration, and I myself, was even frustrated just watching him play through his round. However, he did not let his frustration and disappointment affect his play, he kept playing to the last hole on the last day.

The irony is that the only hindrance, restriction and limitation preventing him from playing his best, is his own subconscious fear, doubt and uncertainty about himself. He might not feel this way consciously, but it was residing deeply within him. This is true, not only with him, but to all of us. The universe is acting as a mirror to show him what was residing deeply within and bringing that hidden part to the surface through his results to test him so that these hidden issues and energies can be dealt with. Throughout the weekend, the universe was teaching him to let go of fear, doubt, and concern about the outcome, and to focus on playing each shot with great mental concentration, focus, determination, patience and trust. He had to detach from the outcome of each shot he just played, let go of it as soon as it was played, and move on to next one, hole to hole and moment to moment. Once he has learned what he needs to learn, he will no doubt learn so much about himself on a deep inner level with positive transformation. In fact, he was actually doing so well. Yes, he had been struggling throughout the four-day tournament, and he did not have as low a score as many other young players had, but he did not give up, he tried and kept going with focus and determination. As a result, he did very well on the last day and he even had an eagle on the 15th hole! Watching a big smile on his face made my heart sing for him, “well done, Tiger!” I believe that he has learned something about himself that he might not have known before, and he has accomplished so much learning on many levels through this Masters tournament. He has come out beautifully, just as the butterfly trying to fly towards its own destiny through some tough learning. To the end, the chosen life lessons come first and the journey is his reward.

Reading Tiger’s natal chart not only enabled me to understand him and the life lessons he has chosen to learn through his struggle, challenge and obstacles, but also helped me grow so much respect and compassion towards him. Like everyone else, he is a soul on his life journey trying to perfect his soul through his chosen life lessons. Even though the lessons sometimes seem to be so challenging and beyond comprehension, the soul can attain enormous growth and expansion from the journey. That is all matters.
