An Important Lesson
by Laura Elliott
Happy November! This is the month of Thanksgiving in the United States, and the Angels bring us an important message for us to think about and offer us a challenge to put their advice into practice. I hope you are all up for the challenge they’re offering so that by the time Thanksgiving arrives at the end of the month you are able to truly give thanks in a very open and unconditional way.
Have a wonderful November!
The joyous path is not always the best one taken. In struggle you learn the lessons you came to learn and to experience. No one has an easy go of it, all are challenged at different times in their lives with different things. What may be a struggle for you may be easy for another, and what is easy for another is a struggle for you. Do you see? Do not look at others and be jealous of the path they have chosen for themselves in this lifetime. There are things you do not see and do not know about their path that makes it difficult for them. Always have compassion for others and do not covet what you perceive them to have. The grass may seem greener on the other side of the fence, but once you get to that side of the fence you will find many brown spots and holes that you were unable to see from your previous vantage point. Not all is as it seems when you are looking at others from your own perspective.
This is where we will speak to you of the true basics of spirituality. There is a tripod of ‘basics’ that hold up the chair that you may rest upon. The first leg of this chair is to love unconditionally. This you must begin by practicing unconditional love for yourself. Only then can you gift it to another. Only then can you truly understand what unconditional love feels like and understand the tremendous gift it is to give it to another as well as to receive it from another. The second leg of this chair is unconditional forgiveness. Only in learning to forgive yourself for past trespasses and perceived errors can you fully understand the gift of giving unconditional forgiveness to others and in receiving it from others. The third leg of this chair is unconditional non-judgment. Only in learning to not judge yourself can you learn to stop judging others. This may be the most difficult of all.
We have spoken before of non-judgment and challenged you to pay attention to your every thought during the day to see how often you are actually making a judgment about someone or something. We told you that you would be surprised at how often you are making a judgment. Our channel, Laura, accepted our challenge and was amazed at how often she had an opinion or outright judgment about something. She felt herself a very non-judgmental person when she accepted our challenge. She was very surprised to find that many of her thoughts involved judgments; about someone on a show she was watching, about how someone had parked in a parking lot, about a choice someone was making about where to place something in a store. Having an opinion that someone could be doing something better or that a situation could have turned out better is placing a judgment on that person or event. As she really paid attention to her thoughts she found herself making many small, and seemingly inconsequential, judgments throughout the day. But we assure you that no matter the size of the judgment, even if it seems small, it is still a judgment and will have the same energetic effect as a judgment that you may deem as large.
It is vital to understand that the three legs of this chair work in concert to achieve holding up this chair of spirituality that you wish to sit upon. With only one or two legs the chair does not stand. When you are able to unconditionally forgive yourself, you are showing yourself unconditional love and non-judgement. When you are existing in a state of constant non-judgment you are existing in a state of unconditional love and forgiveness. You can only exist in a state of unconditional love when you are existing in unconditional forgiveness and non-judgment. It takes existing in all three at the same time in order for the chair to be held up and to be sat upon. This is the goal we wish to set for you. Please accept our challenge to reach this goal and see the huge difference it makes in your life as well as all those around you that you interact with. This energy, when maintained even for the shortest time, ripples out in all directions from you and raises up all those around you that it reaches as far as the ripple can extend to. The longer you are able to maintain this trifecta energy the stronger the ripple and the further its reach.
We hope you take our message this month to heart, we offer it to you with our humblest gratitude for the opportunity to serve you in this way.
