It takes great courage to begin the path towards enlightenment! I cannot believe I have made it as far as I have, and I am certainly not finished yet, but it is about faith. It is difficult to have faith with the Self there, questioning, putting blocks in the way such as questions about the outcome of situations, having fear. The Higher Self part of you does not do that, it says, “let’s see what it is all about” and “I do not need explanations.” The Higher Self HAS faith, and only wants to advance itself, it does not care about the why, how, where and what, it knows NO fear! The Self hates adventure because it wants to prepare for the journey, what lies ahead, is there any danger? The Higher Self says “bring it on” and does not care about danger. It knows that danger is only an illusion created by fear! Once the fear is removed, there is no danger, just experience. I watch day after day as those who wish to become more enlightened, are taken over by the Self which wants to know every detail of what they will experience once they begin the path! The Self must be prepared, and in doing so, stops the path they could take to not returning to the earth plane again. Moving forward metaphysically or as some call it ‘spiritually’ is very hard because it means change, I recall one of my students giving up her job which she hated and deciding to become a teacher/reader, in the beginning it was so hard for her, she had to learn to live on a lot less than she had done, her parents became very critical of her giving up her job, and she at times had to borrow money to pay her bills (she paid back every cent) but she did not give up even though her Self told her to go back to her job, and forget about a spiritual life. Today she is doing so well work wise and financially, she has come through the darkness of doubt and fear, and is so happy with her life, she did not give in. The Self part of us loves the comfort zone, it does not want change, it is fearful of anything new. It is that part of ourselves, 99% of us give in to. I fight my Self at least 3 times a week; that may surprise many of you because I am a channel and work with Maitreya, why do I not have TOTAL faith? It is because I AM human, and I too have a Self and although I have learned from Maitreya to control the Self, I have times when it is very hard to do. If you are considering doing spiritual study, or moving onto a metaphysical path, do know it will not be easy, your Self will then begin its war with your Higher Self, and the battle will begin!
